Illam Thedi Kalvi (ITK) is a flagship initiative by the Tamil Nadu Department of School Education designed to address learning gaps among students in Classes 1–8 caused by the pandemic and to mainstream Out-of-School Children (OoSC). The program adopts a hamlet-based outreach model to provide remedial education in non-school.

Thangar is a medium-sized village in Yamkeshwar Tehsil of Pauri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand, with a population of over 400. Despite being part of a state with 17,752 government schools and over 10 lakh students, Thangar’s schools are under-resourced and understaffed, reflecting the urgent need to improve learning outcomes and curb migration.

The Schools of Applied Learning (SoAL) is a pioneering initiative of the Punjab Government aimed at integrating skill-based education into mainstream schooling for 11th and 12th grade, preparing students for real-world challenges and career opportunities.
